Ziyu Zhao, also known as Zoe amongst her friends, is doing her first year at the University of Pennsylvania as a candidate for Master of Science in Social Policy. With an undergraduate background majoring in English Literature and Linguistics and minoring in International Economics and Politics, she chose economic policy and global NGO cooperation as her main areas of study at Penn. Her travelling, studying and working abroad experiences in Asian and Western cultures shaped her open-mindedness and her interest in addressing global issues through international cooperation. Ziyu interned as an analyst and researcher in different financial sectors such as Bank of China, Deloitte and Kaiyuan Securities in China in 2018 and 2019.
